How can I help?

Islanders have always been caring people and we have many with direct family and friend connections to Ukraine. Many Islanders have shared their time and talent to raise money to support Ukraine.

Others have also stepped up with generous offers of support and there are further options available for anybody wanting to help:

  • Donate to experienced humanitarian organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal fund. Your contribution will add to PEI’s commitments.
  • Contact the Immigrant and Refugee Services Association PEI (IRSA) at www.irsapei.ca/en/ukraine-response-islanders if you wish to offer support or provide accommodations to potential arrivals from Ukraine.
  • Stay informed: Accurate information is critical during this humanitarian crisis. For updates on the federal government’s response, visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s website at www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/ukraine-measures. PEI is committed to supporting Ukrainians who may want to relocate here

Our PEI provincial government is working with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to help the movement of Ukrainians who want to leave their country, temporarily or permanently.

We communicate regularly with our federal partners as we continue to develop local strategies to ensure resources are in place for Ukrainians who come to PEI.

"Islanders have watched in horror as the unprovoked attacks on Ukraine create unnecessary violence and put millions of people in harm’s way. Islanders have always been caring people and we have many with direct family and friend connections to Ukraine and many Islanders have shared their time and talent to raise money to support Ukraine. At times like these, it is important to recognize that we are all connected regardless of international borders and geography.”

- Former Premier Dennis King
